What is going on Today’s successful businesses are turning to Social Media sites Like Twitter, FaceBook Fan pages and Blogs using WordPress and Tumblr Even Businesses Like Pepsi have changed how they spend their advertising dollars – forgoing expensive Super Bowl adds and Pepsi’s announcement that it will not advertise in February’s Superbowl has pushed the TV doomsday clock a couple minutes closer to midnight. The World is shifting and with more and more smartphones in the marketplace the internet is continuing to edge out the traditional forms of advertising Why are the Yellow Pages like Nursing Homes? They’re shockingly expensive, few people under 70 use them, and many who do are a little out of it. Moral of the story? When you invest in Yellow Pages ads, you’re setting fire to money. Response rates to Yellow Page advertising are declining There’s no getting around it, traditional Yellow Pages are in trouble. Fewer people use them every year. Even the best-pulling ad in the section isn’t getting the number of callers or sales it used to. At the same time, the monthly cost to maintain your same-size directory ad keeps going up. Increasing research in the US and Australia has found that the use of the traditional yellow pages is declining.
